Starting Persona: Kore
The maiden daughter of Demeter and Zeus. She is an all-pervading goddess of nature who both produces and destroys everything, associated with spring's bounty. Kore chose to remain a maiden rather than succumb to the advances of men and shared a close relationship with her mother. Kore was known for her beauty, docility, and obedience.
Kore represents Erika's quiet, carefree nature and innocence, her love for the natural world and harmony, profound lack of interest in romantic entanglements, and strong sense of filial love and loyalty.
Combat Role: Erika's primarily a healer with a secondary focus on negative status effects like sleep, paralysis, and poison that cause additional (small) damage and multi-hit(Dream Needle, Stun Needle, Poison Needle, etc). After her Persona upgrade, she'll stop learning status attacks and begin learning Mudo-based skills instead. Aside from Persona usage, Erika has martial arts training with the naginata as part of her path to becoming the very best Yamato Nadeshiko like no one ever was. She's more likely to maintain a defensive, tactical position in most fights and focus on healing and curing ailments in her teammates.
Appearance: Erika has a slender, vaguely athletic build. She's a little on the tall side at 5'6" but for the most part, her figure is well within the range of what's appropriate for a full-blooded Japanese girl. From a distance, the only real giveaway of her mixed heritage is her fine, light brown hair that she wears long in a hime cut (minus the side bangs). It's light enough to appear dark blonde under direct sunlight, especially during summer when the sun bleaches it sometimes. Her eyes are a deep, mahogany brown.
While not exactly bursting with vitality, Erika does maintain a healthy, energetic glow from many hours spent outdoors in the fresh air. She's cute in an Amerasian sort of way but her features look more Caucasian than Japanese to most depending on one's point of view. She looks mostly Japanese to many foreigners or people who've been abroad.
At school, Erika dresses within school regulation. Outside of school, she opts for "cute" themed, feminine clothes and accessories in an assortment of bright colors. Her tops are always very conservative and trendy but when weather permits it, she sports the zettai ryouiki look in skirts and stockings. On colder days, she wears tights underneath. It's not uncommon for her to dress in layers regardless of season. Erika's pretty big on accessories, mostly in the form of hairbands, barrettes, and scarves. Outside of school, Erika also wears light, natural looking makeup.

Personality:
Erika is quiet but cheerful, with a sweet-natured disposition and easy-going, friendly air. She has a very wholesome, conservative exterior to the point of being prudish and straitlaced on subjects such as sex, dating, and current social issues. She appears to function morally and politically within the limits of society, sometimes a little too well given her biracial heritage. She puts a lot of effort in fitting in with the full Japanese - her interests and preferences all fall neatly into the realms of the socially accepted mainstream or traditional past times.
Despite her apparent friendliness, Erika keeps to herself and doesn't get emotionally invested in many people. All of her socializing is of the superficial variety; she avoids any deep emotional connections or lasting commitments with others and holds everyone at arm's length. For the most part, she's more attached to plants, animals, and favorite places than she is to people and not terribly shy about expressing it through subtle, indirect means.
Erika's notorious for having mood swings. Most of the time, she's calm, sensible, and easy to get along with but other times she can be extremely prickly and defensive for no discernible rational cause. She doesn't respond well to coercion, intrusions, or violations of her personal boundaries. More often than not, Erika's harsh reprimands are verbal. Acts of violence or vandalism against her are responded to with kind though this a very rare occurrence.
History:
Not much is known about Erika's history aside from that she was born to a Japanese mother and American father. She has an older sister, Marie, in the third year who is a known delinquent with behavioral problems. She and her sister were adopted by the second son of the Yamamoto family, a traditional, wealthy clan from Kyoto. She has been raised to be proper Japanese girl since childhood and is considered the 'good daughter' of the two.
Most of Erika's school life has focused on learning traditional Japanese arts and crafts, making good grades, and avoiding bullies. In middle school, she began training to use a naginata, a weapon she's shown considerable talent for. However, the highest she's placed in any competition has been second due to some rather contrived technicality-based decisions against her. She's an accomplished shakuhachi and shamisen player and known to be a good dancer. She also has a reputation for having never spilled a single drop during tea ceremonies since she was a little girl.

Erika is a prominent member of the school's ikebana club and has a near encyclopedic knowledge of flower language, including hanakotoba. She's also a member of the school's naginatajutsu club. Erika has a passing interest in kyudo (given that the bow was also favored by samurai women) but has yet to explore it. Also, her hair is too fine for her to properly dye it. Erika is plagued by frequent nightmares and has a noticeable aversion to being around open doors or windows for prolonged periods of time. If given a choice, she will always choose a seat in the dead center of a crowd. Erika also has a noticeable fondness for plants and animals. She's interested in gardening and horticulture but doesn't know much about it. Often she can be seen feeding stray cats and dogs throughout the city. Her voice sounds very similar to Miyume's only Erika speaks in Kyoto-ben. She also wears some of the same fragrances Miyume wore.
